A hastily sewn together Republican tax bill, dubbed by many on Twitter as the #GOPTaxScam, passed through the U.S. Senate after a critical vote at around 2 a.m. on Dec. 2. Now, as Americans wake up to the news on Saturday morning, social media is awash with responses. People are pissed.

In a broader sense, it essentially funds significant tax cuts for the country's wealthiest using everyone else's money.
The bill, which already survived a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives, now has one more legislative hurdle to clear -- reconciliation talks to bring the House and Senate versions in line, followed by another vote -- before it can be signed into law.
Social media isn't taking the news quietly.
