Gorshkov made a hero play with an SMG running through smoke, which proved to be enough to grab the Russian side two more rounds to force the game into overtime.
As with regulation, there was little to pick between the two sides as they went into OT, with the first period was split down the middle 3-3; the second period is where Players managed to just drag themselves over the line 22-20, with BIG faltering on their T side. The Russians will be thanking Sergey "?Ax1Le?" Rykhtorov for his monstrous performance that, at times, kept them in the map.
Next up was the Players pick of Ancient, and the Russians started well by picking up their T pistol and second round. BIG immediately responded by getting some rounds on the board of their own, and Players will be rueing several missed opportunities early in the half that might have broken the German's economy. Instead BIG settled, running the score all the way up to 10-3 before Players managed to string a couple together to get to a total of five rounds going into the second period.
Coming into the second period BIG grabbed the pistol and converted to a 13-5 lead, making it seem like the map was only headed for one result. Abay "?HObbit?" Khassenov managed to put up a huge A hold in a 3v4 disadvantage to get Players into the half and they did not look back once they got their foot in the door, grabbing 11 of the next 12 rounds to shut BIG out and close the map 16-14. Dmitry "?sh1ro?" Sokolov really shone on this map, picking up an impressive 34 kills in regulation.
